Welcome back Warriors. Coming to you guys this Friday with a little pep talk. I haven’t been very active here is the past couple weeks. One of my fur babies was in need of surgery and a little extra TLC. But she is on the mends now, and I’m back with today’s message. One that is really near and dear to me.
We’re all striving, and we’re doing it all the time. We’re striving to better ourselves, to heal, and to self actualize. Heck I doubt you would even be here if you weren’t (this being a self-help site and all). But here’s the thing, while striving can be good, and certainly healthy at times, that doesn’t mean it’s not work. And if I’m being completely honest, some days, its down right exhausting. The morning meditations, the yoga classes, mala beads, mantras, weekend retreats, workshops, seminars, even the stack of self-help book on your night stand.
They’re all good, and they help us do great things, experience deep healing, and connect with our true nature and purpose. But once and awhile they drain your energy faster than location services drain your phone’s battery. So what if today you took a break? What if just for today you stopped striving and chose to meet yourself where you are? I know it can be hard, and it can feel uncomfortable because we think when we’re not trying to move forward, we’re moving backwards. But what if today, you accepted yourself, just as you are?
We can hop back onto our mediation pillows tomorrow, but today, maybe just for a minute, hold some space and gratitude for yourself. Just as you are, right now, wherever you are on your journey. Because you are enough, just as you are. It’s really easy to get caught up in the hype of the (great) self-help content out there. But don’t let striving keep you from acknowledging the amazing personal you already are. Striving can become rather insidious and prevent us from being present.
You are enough, have always been enough, and will always be enough. Click To TweetWe attach our self-worth to exterior factors and believe we’ll be worthy when… When we get the job, loose the weight, buy the house, get the car, get the lover, etc. And while goals and ambitions are great, your self-worth is not attached to them. So just for today, let’s relieve some of the pressure, lets unload some of the burden we place on ourselves and stop striving.
While acceptance is extremely liberating, it can be just as healing and transformative. Click To TweetToday, lets take a break from striving, and accept ourselves for who we are. Accept that you are perfect, just the way are. Because the truth is, you are.
Let me know in the comments below if you need to take a break from striving, and accept yourself for the beautiful and amazing person you are.
If you enjoyed this video, and feel it could positively impact someone else, I’d be extremely grateful if you shared it.
